Raimondi, Gianni (1923–2008)

Italian tenor. He sang Ernesto at Bologna in 1948 and in 1953 appeared as Alfredo at the Stoll Theatre, London, where he returned in 1958 to sing Lord Percy in Anna Bolena. He made his US debut in San Francisco in 1957 and appeared in 1965 at the Metropolitan Opera House, New York, as Edgardo. From 1955 he appeared at La Scala, Milan, and from 1969 to 1977 at the Hamburg Staatsoper. Other roles include Pollione, Gabriele Adorno, and Pinkerton.
