Raimondi, Ignazio (c. 1737-1813)

Italian violinist and composer. After playing the violin in the San Carlo opera orchestra in Naples, he went to Amsterdam where he was director of the subscription concerts c. 1762-80. He later settled in London.

Works

opera La Muette (produced Paris); programme symphony The Adventures of Telemachus (1777) and The Battle (1785);sinfonie concertanti; string quartets and other chamber music.
