Ramis, Harold (1944– )

US film director, writer, actor, and producer. He is best known for directing comedies such as Caddyshack (1980), Stripes (1981), Ghostbusters (1984), and Groundhog Day (1993).

His first major career break was as a writer and performer in the weekly comedy series Second City TV (1976). He then made a name for himself with the screenplay for National Lampoon's Animal House (1978). Other films he directed include National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), Club Paradise (1986), Baby Boom (1987), Stealing Home (1988), Ghostbusters II (1989), Airheads (1994), Analyze This (1999), and Bedazzled (2000).
