Ramos de Pareja, Bartolemé

    0.12 sec.

Ramos de Pareja, Bartolemé (c 1440–c 1490)

Spanish music theorist. He taught music at the universities of Salamanca in Spain and Bologna in Italy, and published several studies of music, though only Musica practica (1482) has survived. His criticism of ancient theories of music, which he thought based too much on theory than practice, had an important impact on the development of Renaissance music theory and composition.
