    0.01 sec.

Rams, Dieter (1932– )

German industrial designer. He is best known for his electrical appliance designs for the Braun company, serving as chief designer from 1956 and executive director 1988–97. Rams is the leading German designer of the post-war years and epitomizes the country's contribution to international design.

He was trained at the Hochschüle für Gestaltung in Ulm, Germany, which was committed to the stark, geometric aesthetic which has characterized Rams's many designs, among them his ‘T3’ transistor radio (1958) and his ‘ET44’ electronic calculator (1977). He is active in Frankfurt.
