Rancho Palos Verdes

Town in Los Angeles County, southwest California; population (1990) 41,700. It is situated on the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the Pacific Ocean, 32 km/20 mi south-southwest of Los Angeles city centre. It is an affluent residential community in the Palos Verdes Hills. Marymount College (1933) is in the town.
