random number

One of a series of numbers having no detectable pattern. Random numbers are used in computer simulation and computer games. It is impossible for an ordinary computer to generate true random numbers, but various techniques are available for obtaining pseudo-random numbers – close enough to true randomness for most purposes.

Christian Grant managed to override the random number generator at Gala Bingo, calling out numbers he knew were on cards bought by two different girlfriends, Samantha Temple and Nandi Ndebele.
Slot machines use Random Number Generators (RNG's) to continuously cycle through numbers used to generate a play's result, and this is occurring even when the machine is not being played.
Christian Grant was working for Gala Bingo when he hatched the plan to override the random number generator.
