Rangström, Türe (1884–1947)

Swedish conductor, critic, and composer. He studied with Johan Lindegren (1842–1908) at Stockholm and Hans Pfitzner at Munich, and also in Berlin. He settled in Stockholm as a critic in 1907 and conducted the Göteborg Symphony Orchestra 1922–25.

Kronbruden (after Strindberg) and Medeltida (after Drachman, 1918); incidental music to Ibsen's Brand and Strindberg's Till Damaskus.

Orchestral

four symphonies (1914–36), August Strindberg in memoriam, Mitt land, Sang under stjärnorna, symphonic poems Dityramb, Ett midsommarnattstycke, En höstsang, Havet sjunger.
