Raupach, Hermann Friedrich (1728–1788)

German harpsichordist and composer. Son and pupil of Christoph Raupach, he was in the service of the Russian court at St Petersburg from 1755. In Paris in 1766 he met Mozart, who arranged some movements from sonatas by Raupach for piano and string orchestra.

Works

operas Alceste (1758), Good Soldiers (performed 1780), and Siroe (Italian); c. 15 ballets; violin sonatas.
