Razak, Tun Abdul (1922–1976)

Malaysian politician and civil servant. In 1970, Razak was appointed as Malaysia's second prime minister after independence, but he died prematurely from cancer six years later.

Razak was educated at Malay College in Kuala Kangsar and Raffles College in Singapore. He then studied law at Lincoln's Inn, London. He joined the civil service, and in 1955 became the Chief Minister of Pahang. He held the posts of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence in 1959 in the newly-formed Federation of Malaya
