Rhea Silvia

In Roman legend, the daughter of King Numitor of Alba and mother, by Mars, of Romulus and Remus.

She was a Vestal Virgin, and when she gave birth to twins her uncle Amulius, who had usurped her father's throne, had her thrown into the River Tiber. She became a goddess and the wife of the river god.
