Red Bank

Town in Monmouth County, east New Jersey; population (1990) 10,600. It is situated on the Navesink River, 8 km/5 mi west of the Atlantic, and 14 km/9 mi northwest of Asbury Park. Settled in the mid 17th century and once a shipping hub, it is now a yachting and fishing centre, year-round resort, and residential community. Local manufactures include boats, wood products, electrical equipment, and soft drinks.

The Monmouth Arts Center and Count Basie Theater, named in honour of the Red Bank native and celebrated US jazz musician, Count Basie, are in the town.

Town in Hamilton County, southeast Tennessee; population (1990) 12,300. It is a largely residential suburb, lying 8 km/5 mi north of Chattanooga city centre.
