Redding, Otis (1941–1967)
| US soul singer and songwriter. He had a number of hits in the mid-1960s such as ‘My Girl’ (1965), ‘Respect’ (1967), and ‘(Sittin' on the) Dock of the Bay’ (1968). Among his acclaimed albums are Otis Blue (1965) and Live in Europe (1967). He died in a plane crash. |
