Redstone, Sumner (Murray) (1923– )

US entertainment executive who, through his investments in the entertainment industry, controls an empire of cinemas and television production and distribution companies, including National Amusements, Viacom International, CBS Corp., MTV networks, and Paramount.

He was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was a government and private lawyer. His net worth was estimated to be $7.6 billion in 2007 by US magazine Forbes.
