Reed, Talbot Baines (1852–1893)

English writer. He wrote school stories for the Boy's Own Paper, typical examples being The Fifth Form at St Dominic's 1881 and The Willoughby Captains 1883.

Reed was born in London and worked in his father's firm of typefounders, subsequently becoming head of the firm. He wrote the standard History of Old English Letter Foundries 1887 and in 1892 helped to start the Bibliographical Society.
