Butler, Reg(inald Cotterell) (1913–1981)

English sculptor. He taught architecture from 1937 to 1939 and was then a blacksmith for many years before becoming known for cast and forged iron works, both abstract and figurative. In 1953 he won an international competition for a monument to The Unknown Political Prisoner (a model is in the Tate Gallery, London).
