Registry

Dedicated database used in Microsoft Windows 95, 98, NT, XP, and Vista to store details of how the operating system and various applications programs have been set-up for one or more users. In earlier versions of Windows, these details were kept in ini (initialization) files such as Win.ini and in configuration files such as config.sys.
