regular verb

Verb that forms each tense according to a pattern followed by most English verbs, which involves adding -ed to form both the past tense and the past participle; for example, ‘I walk, I walked, I have walked’. Irregular verbs do not follow this pattern, as in swim; swam; swum, and put; put; put.
