Rehoboth Beach

Town in Sussex County, southeast Delaware; population (1990) 1,200. It is situated on the Lewes and Rehoboth Canal and the Atlantic coast, 8 km/5 mi southeast of Lewes. Originally a Methodist camp meeting site, the town developed as a popular resort during a 1920s real estate boom, and is now Delaware's largest summer resort.
