Reizenstein, Franz (1911-1968)

German-born British pianist and composer. He wrote chamber music and pieces for piano. After being interned as an enemy alien during World War II, he remained in Britain, and taught piano at the Royal Academy of Music 1958-68.

He studied at the State Academy for Music in Berlin 1930-34, where his teachers included Hindemith. The Nazi régime drove him to England in 1934 and he studied with Vaughan Williams at the Royal College of Music in London, also piano with Solomon.
