Repentigny

Town in Assomption County, south Québec, Canada; population (1991) 49,600. It is located 26 km/16 mi north-northeast of Montréal, on the St Lawrence River, where the River des Prairies and the River de l'Assomption meet it, just north of the northeast tip of the Island de Montréal. It is a fast-growing, primarily residential suburb.
