Repton

Village in Derbyshire, England, on the River Trent, 12 km/7 mi southwest of Derby; population (2001) 4,650. The kings of Mercia (the Anglo-Saxon kingdom that emerged in the 6th century) had a palace at Repton and three kings were buried at the monastery. The parish church contains a Saxon crypt.
