Reston, James (Barrett) ‘Scotty’ (1909-1995)

Scottish-born US journalist. He became an outstanding reporter and political analyst, winning two Pulitzer Prizes (1945 and 1957). In the 1960s he became associate and then executive editor of the Times, while also writing a regular column.

He was born in Clydebank. He joined the New York Times Washington bureau in 1939.
