Rexburg

Town and administrative headquarters of Madison County, east Idaho; population (1990) 14,300. It is situated on a branch of the Teton River, 43 km/27 mi northeast of Idaho Falls. Founded in 1883, it is a trade centre for the Teton Valley's dairy, lumber, sugar beet, potato, and livestock industries. Ricks College (1888) and a large Mormon tabernacle are in the town. The International Folk Dance Festival is held here annually.
