Reznikoff, Charles

Reznikoff, Charles (1894–1976)

US poet and writer who was noted for his spare poetry of the objectivist school. He often dealt with the role of Judaism in his life, as in Poems 1937–75 1977.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He studied at the University of Missouri 1910–11, settled in New York City, and earned a law degree from New York University in 1915. He worked in publishing for much of his life.
