Rhadamanthys

In Greek mythology, the son of Zeus and Europa; ruler of Elysium, and judge of the dead with his brother Minos, and Aeacus, king of the Myrmidons.

Rhadamanthys had originally reigned over part of Crete, but left the kingdom to his brother Minos and travelled to Boeotia where he married Alcmene, mother of the hero Heracles (Hercules), and the widow of Amphitryon. His just reputation as a ruler and creator of city laws earned him his office in the underworld.
