| Work for piano and orchestra by Gershwin, composed in January 1924 and orchestrated by Grofé. First perfomed at New York on 12 February 1924, with Gershwin and Paul Whiteman band. A version for symphony orchestra in 1942 was one of the earliest orchestral works to integrate jazz elements to a large extent. |
