Rhau (or Rhaw), Georg (1488-1548)

German composer and publisher. A cantor at St Thomas's School, Leipzig, until 1520, he was then schoolmaster at Eisleben and printer at Wittenberg, where he published various Lutheran music collections including works of his own. He wrote vocal works including hymn-tunes.
