Rhine-Rhône Canal

Canal in France, uniting the Rivers Rhine and Rhone. It was cut between 1783 and 1834, and is nearly 350 km/217 mi long, running from the Saône, a tributary of the Rhône, to the Ill, near Strasbourg.
