Rhondda

Two rivers of south Wales - Rhondda Fawr and Rhondda Fach. They unite at Porth and enter the Taff at Pontypridd. Their valleys form a series of linear settlements which were once an important coal-mining area. In 1924 it contained 40 collieries.
