River in south Wales, rising at Cefn Yr Ystrad (617 m/2,024 ft) in the Brecon Beacons and flowing south into the Bristol Channel 3 km/2 mi east of Cardiff; length 58 km/36 mi; catchment area 233 sq km/90 sq mi.

Rhymney

Town in the county borough of Caerphilly, south Wales; population (2001) 7,000. Light industries have replaced coal mining as the main source of income.
