Rhys, Ernest Percival (1859-1946)

Anglo-Welsh editor and writer. He became associated with the publishing firm of J M Dent 1894, and later was made the first editor of the Everyman's Library series of inexpensive editions of literary classics.

Rhys was born in London. He spent several years in Carmarthen and began a career in mining engineering, but abandoned it to become a publisher's editor. He wrote two novels, several volumes of verse, criticism, and reminiscences.
