Range of technologies that provide an enhanced viewing experience on the Internet. These technologies include video, audio, vector graphics, Java, dynamic HTML, and Shockwave. Companies delivering rich media include Real Networks, Macromedia, Unicast, and ThinkingMedia. Examples of the use of rich media online include Unicast's Superstitial – pop-up advertising in between content – and Flash and Java animations – commonly used forms of rich media advertising.
