Richards, William Trost (1833–1905)

US painter who is known for his precise seascapes, such as On the Coast of New Jersey 1883.

He was born in Philadelphia. A draftsman, he studied abroad 1853–56, lived in Germantown, Pennsylvania, then settled in Newport, Rhode Island in 1890.
