Richardson, Tony (Cecil Antonio) (1928-1991)English director and producer. With George Devine he established the English Stage Company in 1955 at the Royal Court Theatre, London, with such productions as John Osborne's Look Back in Anger (1956). He was a leading figure in the English realist cinema of the late 1950s and early 1960s, with such films as Look Back in Anger (1958), his feature debut, Saturday Night and Sunday Morning (1960), A Taste of Honey (1961), and Tom Jones (1963; Academy Award). He also made The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962), Joseph Andrews (1977), and Blue Sky (shot 1991, released 1994, in the USA).
