Richmond, John (1960- )

English fashion designer. He produces unconventional street and clubland designs. He worked in the Richmond-Cornejo partnership 1984-87, creating upmarket leather jackets and separates, before setting up his own fashion label 1987. He continued to experiment with leather, producing jackets with tattoo-printed sleeves 1989 and jackets covered with graffiti 1990. In 1989 he expanded his range with the ‘Destroy’ line which combines the basic elements of his signature with lower prices. He staged his first solo show 1991.
