Richmond, Julius Benjamin (1916- )

US physician, child psychiatrist, and educator. He pioneered the introduction of psychosocial development in paediatric education. His career was marked by his interest in the development of health policies, particularly those aimed at children and families.

He was born in Chicago. He was psychiatrist-in-chief of the Judge Baker Guidance Center in Boston 1971-77 and then served as surgeon general of the United States 1977-81.
