Rickards, Steven (1955- )

US countertenor. He sang with the Waverley Consort of New York and other ensembles in the USA and Europe (including a tour of France with Messiah in 1982). In 1987 he made his Carnegie Hall debut. In 1985 he sang at the Boston Early Music Festival in the US first performance of Handel's Teseo and also at Santa Fe, as Ariel in the premiere of Eaton's The Tempest. He has sung in recent revivals of Handel's Siroe in New York, Locke's Psyche in London, and Hasse's L'Olimpiade in Dresden.
