Ridley, Clarence Eugene

Ridley, Clarence Eugene (1891-1979)

US city manager. He earned a national reputation as the progressive city manager of Bluefield, West Virginia 1921-25 and was the first director of the International City Managers' Association 1929-56. Known as ‘Mr City Manager’, he established the Public Administration Service in 1933 and The Municipal Year Book in 1934, and he developed standards for municipal services.

He was born in Armada, Michigan.
