Ridley, Nicholas (c. 1500-1555)

English Protestant bishop. He became chaplain to Henry VIII in 1541, and bishop of London in 1550. He took an active part in the Reformation and supported Lady Jane Grey's claim to the throne. After Mary I's accession he was arrested and burned as a heretic.
