Rilling, Helmuth (1933- )

German conductor. He studied at the Stuttgart Hochschule and with Fernando Germani and Bernstein. In 1954 he founded the Gächinger Kantorei, giving performances worldwide of German Baroque music. In 1965 he founded the Bach-Collegium of Stuttgart, which undertook a US tour in 1968 and appeared at the English Bach Festival, London in 1972. His recordings include a cycle of Bach cantatas from 1972, with the Frankfurter Kantorei, Gächinger Kantorei, and Figuralchor of Stuttgart.
