Rinaldo di Capua (c. 1705–c. 1780)

Italian composer. He wrote more than 30 operas, the first of which was produced in Rome in 1737. Only fragments of his music survive.

Some of his operas appeared in Florence and Venice, and in 1752–53 the Bouffons in Paris performed his La donna superba and La zingara. His last opera seria was written in 1758, after which he devoted himself to comic opera. Charles Burney found him living in poor circumstances in Rome in 1770, after which nothing is known of him.
