River Falls

Town in Pierce and St Croix counties, northwest Wisconsin; population (1990) 10,500. It is situated on the Kinnickinnic River, 19 km/12 mi northeast of the junction of the St Croix and Mississippi rivers and the Minnesota state line. The centre of an agricultural region, it has grain elevators and poultry farms. The University of Wisconsin at River Falls (1874) is in the town. Kinnickinnic State Park is 8 km/5 mi to the southwest.
