Riverdale

Town in Clayton County, northwest Georgia; population (1990) 9,400. It is located 21 km/13 mi south of Atlanta city centre, and is a residential suburb.

Riverdale

Town in Cook County, northeast Illinois; population (1990) 13,700. It is situated on the Little Calumet River, to the south of Chicago. This bedroom community was settled in the 1840s at the intersection of the river with an American Indian trail.

Riverdale

Residential section in the northwest of the Bronx, New York. A semisuburban district of winding lanes, large estates, and schools and other institutions, it lies on a high ridge between Van Cortlandt Park and the Hudson River, extending from the Westchester line to Spuyten Duyvil in the south. A mid-19th-century country haven, Riverdale was annexed to New York City in 1874.
