Robert II (of Scotland)

Robert II (1316-1390)

King of Scotland from 1371. He was the son of Walter (1293-1326), steward of Scotland, and Marjory, daughter of Robert the Bruce. He acted as regent during the exile and captivity of his uncle David II, whom he eventually succeeded. He was the first king of the house of Stuart.
