Roberts, Lydia Jane (1879-1965)

US home economist and educator. Author of the classic Nutrition Work with Children 1927, she specialized in children's and community nutrition and nutrition education; she developed standards for dietary requirements and lobbied for vitamin enrichment of flour and bread.

She was born in Hope, Michigan. She entered the University of Chicago, earned a PhD and was professor of home economics there 1919-44.
