Roberts, Owen J(osephus) (1875–1955)

US Supreme Court justice. He gained prominence when President Calvin Coolidge appointed him to prosecute in the Teapot Dome Scandal in 1924. He served in the US Supreme Court 1930–45.

He was born in Philadelphia. He was dean of the University of Pennsylvania Law School 1948–51.
