Roberval

Town in Lac St-Jean Ouest County, south Québec, Canada; population (1991) 11,600. It is located 200 km/125 mi north-northwest of Québec City, on the southwest shore of Lake St-Jean. Founded in 1855, it is the administrative, commercial, and service centre for the area. Local industries include dairying, potato growing, and salmon fishing. Roberval is also a noted lake resort.

The Traversée Internationale du Lac-St-Jean, a swim marathon between Péribonka (on the lake's north) and Roberval, is held every July.
