Robinson, Eddie Gay (1919–2007)

US football coach who guided the Grambling Tigers to fame, sending over 200 players to careers in the National Football League, compiling the all-time best record as a college football coach and winning numerous awards.

He was born in Jackson, Louisiana. After graduation from college and working at a feed mill, he realized his boyhood ambition by becoming head football coach at Louisiana Negro Normal and Industrial Institute in 1941 (since renamed Grambling State University).
