Robinson, Edward G (1893-1973)

Romanian-born US actor. He typically played gangster roles, as in Little Caesar (1930), but also gave strong performances in psychological dramas such as Scarlet Street (1945).

Robinson also performed in dramatic and comedy roles in film and on the stage. His other films include Dr Ehrlich's Magic Bullet (1940), Double Indemnity (1944), The Ten Commandments (1956), A Hole in the Head (1959), and Soylent Green (1973).

He wrote two autobiographical volumes, My Father, My Son (1958) and All My Yesterdays (1973).
